Summary:

This two-day course is designed to refresh and update candidates' knowledge and understanding of the PRINCE2 method as a result of the recent 'Refresh' project which produced the 2009 version. It also serves to remind candidates for the Practitioner Reregistration exam of the necessary examination techniques in order to maximise their chance of passing the examination. It concludes with eligible candidates sitting the Reregistration examination. Delegates who are not taking the Re-registration exam leave before the exam commences. The papers are sent away to be marked by the APMG, and a new certificate is sent to successful candidates.

In order to retain the qualification of 'Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner', candidates must pass the Re-registration examination every five years (the examination can be taken between three and five years). This examination is a one-hour open book paper, where delegates can have access to the PRINCE2 manual.

During the course, detailed guidance is given on the completion of the examination paper, helping candidates to concentrate on the key concepts. Advice is given on examination technique and sample questions are worked through, with candidates completing a number of answers. These are reviewed against examination marking schemes.

This face to face exam preparation and coaching builds confidence in the candidates to tackle the Re-registration examination itself, and reinforces the linkages between the Processes, Principles and Themes employed by thwe PRINCE2 method.

PreRequisites:

• Candidates must already appear on the APMG list of Registered PRINCE2 Practitioners if they intend to take the re-registration exam.
• They must bring with them the latest version of the PRINCE2 manual, and may bring any further notes.
• To maximise the benefit of the day, candidates should spend a short time revising to understand the main points of PRINCE2:2009 if they are not using the method on a regular basis
• PRINCE2 is a Registered Trade Mark of the Office of Government Commerce in the United Kingdom and other countries.

Audience:

Those who wish to take the PRINCE2 Practitioner Re-registration examination and those who wish to understand (or convert to) the latest version of the method.

Please be aware, this course also provides 14 Hours of Contact Education/Professional Development Units towards PMI PMP certification/re-certification.

Objectives:

• Understand the changes to the method and refresh their knowledge of the PRINCE2 Project Management method
• Understand the structure of the PRINCE2 Practitioner Re-registration examination
• Understand the philosophy behind typical examination marking schemes
• Hone their exam approach and techniques and revise effectively
• Build confidence in their ability to answer questions on how the PRINCE2 method can be applied
