Audience:
Experienced Linux System Administrators who need to acquire in-depth administration knowledge of the key administrative, networking, performance and security tasks required on SUSE Linux within the Enterprise.
Objectives:
On completion of this course the delegate will have in-depth technical knowledge of what is required to administer SUSE Linux within the Enterprise. They will have gained practical experience of configuring administrative, networking, performance and security aspects of a SUSE Linux Enterprise system to an advanced level.
- Install SUSE Linux and configure automated installation
- Update and monitor a SLES 9 server for performance
- Perform administrative tasks with YaST/YaST2
- Configure network services and system security
- Manage and configure the Linux file system
- Manage software installation and patch management
- Manage system initialisation, processes, and services
- Kernel configuration under SUSE Linux
- Configure mail services using postfix
- Configure the Apache2 system
