SUSE Linux System Administration
On completion of this course the delegate will have a greater technical awareness of the system, practical experience of configuring administrative and security aspects. They will also gain the key skills required to work towards achieving the Novell Certified Linux Professional (Novell CLP) and the LPIC-1 & LPIC-2 certification status.
- SUSE Linux Essentials
This course prepares the student for the basic tasks required to administer SUSE Linux in an Enterprise environment.
- Install SUSE Linux
- Update and monitor a SLES 9 server
- Perform administrative tasks with YaST/YaST2
- Manage users and groups
- Provide basic system security
- Manage the Linux file system
- Manage software installation
- Manage system initialisation, processes, and services
- Connect the server to the network
- Configure local printers
- Provide basic network services
- System Startup / Shutdown and Service Management
- System Configuration
- Configure a mail server using postfix
- Disaster Recovery and Troubleshooting
