They will also gain the key skills required to work towards achieving the Novell Certified Linux Professional (Novell CLP) and the LPIC-1 & LPIC-2 certification status.

  • SUSE Linux Essentials

Audience: 

This course prepares the student for the basic tasks required to administer SUSE Linux in an Enterprise environment.

  • Install SUSE Linux
  • Update and monitor a SLES 9 server
  • Perform administrative tasks with YaST/YaST2
  • Manage users and groups
  • Provide basic system security
  • Manage the Linux file system
  • Manage software installation
  • Manage system initialisation, processes, and services
  • Connect the server to the network
  • Configure local printers
  • Provide basic network services
  • System Startup / Shutdown and Service Management
  • System Configuration
  • Configure a mail server using postfix
  • Disaster Recovery and Troubleshooting
